Aaron Claus

Ho Ho Ho! Do you think he's on the nice list or the naughty list?

Attempting Christmas pictures

These are some of our attempts at getting Christmas pictures. We finally got a good one after many tries!

Christmas Play

Our Children's Christmas play at church went well. Abby was the narrator and she did a super job. We were so proud of her!

No, the play wasn't about Santa. It was a manger scene. But when Aaron was asked what animal he wanted to be, he said a reindeer. The bible is not real specific about what animals were in the stable anyway, right?

Gingerbread Creations

Abby and Mommy have made a gingerbread house for the past few years. We continued that tradition this year. And this year, Aaron helped make a gingerbread train. We had lots of fun and ate lots of candy!

Flower girl again

The Friday before Christmas, Abby was the flower girl in a friend's wedding. She did a great job and she was told she looked like a princess. The ring bearer has a crush on her. Who wouldn't??

Christmas Parade

Abby and Aaron rode on a float in the Christmas parade last Saturday. Abby was the first girl there, so she got to be Mary in the manger scene.

Aaron was not playing Joseph...He just wanted to sit beside Abby.

Halloween

Abby and Aaron had so much fun carving our pumpkin and trick or treating. Abby was dressed as "Barbie, the Island Princess" and Aaron was "Bob the Builder". Aaron used his toolbox to put his candy in and boy, was there a lot of candy!!!

More Washington

Of course, our favorite part of every vacation is trying to find a Ben and Jerry's!

More Washington

This was taken from the Lincoln Memorial. I was a little worried that Aaron might jump in the water to chase the ducks, but he was pretty good!

Just hanging out in Alexandria, Virginia where we stayed.

We went to the National Zoo one day. Abby and Aaron's favorite thing was seeing the Panda bears.

More Washington

Abby and Aaron were both very excited about seeing the White House. (I'm sure Aaron didn't have a clue what it was, he had just heard Abby talk about it.) The security around the White House is amazing so you can't get too close, but it was neat to see anyway. Next time we will try to get a tour.

The Capitol was pretty cool. We could walk up to the steps but we really didn't want to tangle with the guards with machine guns. So, we kept our distance. You never know what Aaron might do!

This is Aaron and Abby on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Abby really liked the big statue of Abe inside.

Our trip to Washington DC

We took a quick trip to Washington DC for Abby's fall break. She has been studying about the government and all the monuments in school. She was excited to see all the things she had studied about. It was a beautiful day and we walked ourselves silly trying to see everything. But we had a great time!

This was taken from the top of the Washington Monument. Abby wanted to know if they had an elevator. Luckily, they did and we rode it up instead of taking the 896 steps.

Boating with the Coopers

Last week we went to Cave Run with Chuck and Megan Cooper on their boat. It was Abby and Aaron's first time on a boat and tubing. They had a blast. The water was pretty cool but they didn't care. I thought we'd never get them out of the lake.

Another golf trip!

Aaron got to play golf this time with Poppy and cousin Christopher! Aaron says he won. I'm not sure I believe him.

Abby's 7th birthday

We had lots of fun at Abby's birthday party! We had a cookout in our backyard and borrowed a jumpy house from a friend. The kids had a blast!

Of course, Aaron loved helping Abby open presents. He thought it was his new stuff, too.

Look out Tiger!

Aaron went golfing with Brad the other day. He had been begging to go "golf with Daddy". He had his own clubs and a little plastic golf bag. He actually made it though 8 1/2 holes! We hear TigerWoods started playing when he was 3!

Fishing with Mr. Bob

Bob Johnson took us out on Grayson lake on his boat. It was the first time Aaron had been on a boat and the first time he had been fishing.

This is Aaron's first fish! It's not quite as big as he told everyone it was.

Abby is a pro at fishing. She even baits her own hook!

Aaron's first kayaking trip

Aaron and Daddy getting ready to go to Carter Caves with the Kayak. Aaron did great and is ready to go again!

Abby's first day of 2nd grade

Abby was excited to start a new school year. I can't believe she's in the 2nd grade!

Aaron had to take his backpack and computer with us when we took Abby to school. ( His crown is from being King David in Sunday School the day before)
